Violence strikes a crowded Dallas neighborhood

DALLAS — Four people were killed and 15 others injured after separate shootings in Dallas’ Deep Ellum neighborhood during Halloween celebrations, police said, according to The Associated Press.
Police Chief Daniel Comeaux said investigators were still working to determine whether the shootings were related, AP reported. That distinction is important: authorities have described separate incidents, and a shared neighborhood does not by itself establish a common shooter or motive.
FOX 4’s reporting, published by FOX 7 Austin, described three shooting scenes in the entertainment district early Sunday. Officers closed several blocks as emergency crews responded and police worked to manage the large crowds.
The CGTN America post shared with Newstro says four people died and 15 were injured. The post’s text was supplied by a reader because Newstro could not independently access the post itself; the same totals are supported by AP’s account of what police said. They are preliminary and could change.
