Article analytics
Newstro records article page views to understand readership. Each visit record may include the article, visit time, approximate active reading time, browser family, referring site and estimated country. Country is estimated from the visitor’s IP address using a locally stored country database; the analytics visit record does not retain the IP address. Hosting providers may process IP addresses in their own server logs.
The visit uses a randomly generated identifier to update reading time during that page view. Newstro’s analytics respects Global Privacy Control and browser Do Not Track signals by not recording that visit. Analytics is not a count of unique people. Country location data is provided by DB-IP, under CC BY 4.0.
