November 7, 2026 — Little Giant is recalling about 3.66 million ladders with Rapid Locks because they can suddenly retract if the locks are not fully engaged, creating a fall hazard, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said.

The company has received 25 reports of ladders retracting, including 19 reports of injuries, the agency said in its November 5 notice. Three reports involved head injuries; 16 involved other injuries. The company also received 39 reports of Rapid Locks not working properly.

Which ladders are affected

The recall covers Little Giant’s Adjustable Fortress 2.0, Conquest 2.0, Dark Horse 2.0, Epic, King Kombo XT, Leveler, MegaLite, MegaLite+, Multi, Quantum and Vector models with Rapid Locks. The black or orange locks are located on the ladder legs. The brand and model name appear on the side, according to the CPSC.

Only ladders without an orange rectangular “QC” sticker on the rail above one of the Rapid Locks are included. The products were sold nationwide, including through Lowe’s, Costco and online sellers, from December 2015 through October 2026 for roughly $100 to $1,000, the agency said.

What owners should do

The CPSC says owners should stop using recalled ladders immediately, review the company’s recall information and contact Little Giant for a repair kit with warning labels and instructions. The instructions include checking that the locks are engaged before each use and maintaining them with lubrication.

If a lock does not work properly after the instructions and lubrication are applied, the agency says to contact the company for evaluation. If it still does not work properly after evaluation, Little Giant will offer a replacement or a refund; the refund amount can depend on the purchase date. Consumers can call 866-201-9069, 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mountain time, Monday through Friday.

The agency’s recall page includes product photographs and the complete remedy instructions. Owners who are uncertain whether their ladder is included should check the model and sticker against that notice and contact the company.
